"Enjoy 4 days of winter sun with light activities and the exotic urban highlights of Granada. A pleasant winter weekend escape with skiing, light multi adventure and inspiring guided attractions - invigorate yourself!"

Overview / Itinerary / Accommodation / Prices & Dates / Notes

DESCRIPTION:

Our Winter Weekend is hardly about exerting loads of physical energy and more about balancing refreshing winter activities with the inspiring beauty of Granada city - the exotic Moorish centerpiece of Spain - all under the warm Andalucian sunshine!

This weekend winter break is open to those seeking an exciting yet balanced escape from their winter blues. No experience required and we welcome all abilities - our emphasis is on fresh air, sunshine and a bit of healthy play in an inspiring place!

The weekend is filled with activities such as a day skiing or snowboarding at Sierra Nevada - Spain's largest ski resort, a lovely guided walk along canyon walls with swinging bridges, an optional afternoon of rock climbing and abseil fun or mountain biking and of course tours of the Alhambra Palace, a pub and tapas crawl through the Moroccan Quarter and an evening of authentic Flamenco at a non touristy venue.

Groups sizes are small - between 6 and 14 and singles and couples from around the world have joined us on this tour. With Ryan Air, Monarch and BA now flying direct into Granada, this unique program is very popular and a great value!

DURATION OF TOUR / STARTING DAY:
4 days, 3 nights - starting on Thursday evenings

NOT INTERESTED IN THE PHYSICAL SIDE?
Sometimes friends and partners wish to be a part of our tours but would rather do their own thing such as enjoy their book in a plaza, shop Granada's markets or just take in the atmosphere on their own terms - joining the group of course for evening fun! We are happy to accommodate 'non active' partners - please enquire directly about price and availability.

"What a fantastic experience! A great week with my daughters, new challenges, a highlight of rock climbing, great treks, wonderful lunches and the ultimate leader! Thanks Matt and Jules!!"
Linda Dmytryshyn (Vancouver, Canada)

DAY 1: (Thursday Evening)
Group meets at our hotel base in central Granada - right on the plaza Bib Rambla and in the center of the Moroccan Market place and all the attractions. Evening orientation dinner.

DAY 2: (Friday)
After breakfast we travel by private mini bus to Sierra Nevada Ski Resort (45 min) where we'll ski or snowboard for a full day. New to the sport? No problem, for a small supplement we can put you into our ski school - Sierra Nevada is brilliant for learning to ski or snowboard. Apres ski we enjoy drinks on an outdoor terrace at the ski hill with options for shopping in the resort, ice skating or sledging before we return to Granada. Tonight we learn the art of 'Tapas' culture and taste local wines and sherrys followed by a walk through the Granada's Albaizan quarter.

DAY 3: (Saturday)
This morning we enjoy a guided day out in our private mini bus with a lovely walk in the Monochil gorge over swinging bridges and between steep canyon walls. The walk is easy and about 2.5 hours in total - enjoying a tapas style Adventurebug picnic with wine on route. A bit later we offer a fun rock climbing intro course with abseiling or the option of self guided mountain biking on the trails around the park - both optional of course! We return to Granada to free up shopping and exploration time for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner is not included tonight (allowing you to experiment with Granada's cuisine and the Spanish language!). Later tonight we meet up for an exploration of Granada's Flamenco quarter and take in a real performance at a local Pena (private Flamenco Association).

DAY 4: (Sunday)
This morning we have a visit to the lovely Alhambra Palace and the Gardens of the Generalife then a final tapas lunch in one of Granada's many pretty squares before departing for our onward journey and saying adios to the group.
